Afin de faciliter la visite chez le vétérinaire des propriétaires de chien et de chats anglais, voici un lexique regroupant les méthodes de diagnostic et les traitements.

In order to facilitate visits to the vet for English speaking owners of domestic animals (cats and dogs), here is a lexicon which lists the main diagnoses and treatments.

Etablir un diagnostic / Establishing a diagnosis

Dans la salle de consultation / In the consultation room

  • Un thermomètre : A thermometer
    - prendre la température : to take / taking the animal’s temperature
  • Un stéthoscope : A stethoscope
    - ausculter le cœur / les poumons : listening to the heart / lungs
  • Un otoscope : An otoscope
    - regarder dans les oreilles : looking into the animal’s ears
  • Une muselière : A muzzle
  • La fréquence cardiaque : Heartbeat / heart rhythm
  • La fréquence respiratoire : Breathing rate / breathing rhythm
  • La température : Temperature
  • Une palpation : Physical / digital examination / palpation
